League of Legends Will Have an Equal Balance Between VGUs and New Champions in 2019
So I've been looking at all the news about Ezreal and everybody right now is talking about his rework. The W (Essence Flux) is currently the most discussed by the time make it possible, but still not sure whether only the W will be change. I don't think that's the only one, maybe also his passive will be change as well.
Riot Games' Reav3 explained that League of Legends will have a 50/50 split of visual and gameplay updates for older champions and introducing new champions in 2019.
This is quite similar to the 2018 season of League of Legends.
Jeremy Lee twitted, @RiotBrightmoon
"please (re)welcome NUNU & WILLUMP to League of Legends!!! This might be my absolute favorite VGU yet ❤️"
The most recent VGU for Nunu was a massive success as the community saw a beloved character keep its core gameplay while being updated to fit a modern meta.
In a post about potential champion VGUs on the list, explained the thought process of how Riot Games chooses between a VGU or a new champion.
"Next year will likely be more of a 50/50 split like 2017. We have done surveys ourselves and found that it is about 50/50 from players in wanting VGUs or New Champs. VGUs are of course good because it brings older champions up to modern standards, but they also incur a cost, that not matter how good of a job we do some people will quit. We have to balance all of this when we decide what to prioritize."
Ezreal is the next known VGU on the list while Morgana and Kayle will receive similar updates sometime in 2019.
Keep in mind that the upcoming rework will not be available to during Worlds Championship 2018. Ezreal will be still playable to pro players but as the old version which is currently the one that we are using.
The Ezreal rework will maybe coming next month now and I think it is really very interesting.
